    SAI UPDATES

    CLICK HERE FOR THE "SAI V1.50 UPDATE (3/21/2013)

    THIS UPDATE MUST BE INSTALLED OVER THE V1.00 (ORIGINAL) GAME INSTALL. IT WILL NOT UPDATE ANY OTHER VERSION!

    IT IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED THAT YOU UNINSTALL YOUR CURRENT SAI GAME AND DELETE ANY FILES/FOLDERS THAT MAY REMAIN BEFORE YOU RE-INSTALL SAI. PLEASE BE SURE TO BACKUP ANY CUSTOM SHIP OR SCENARIO FILES YOU MAY HAVE FIRST!



    THIS PATCH INCLUDES ALL CHANGES/FIXES/UPDATES FROM ALL PREVIOUS UPDATES.

    THIS UPDATE MUST BE INSTALLED BEFORE THE 'STEAM AND IRON CAMPAIGN EXPANSION' IS INSTALLED. THE CAMPAIGN EXPANSION WILL NOT WORK WITH ANY VERSION OF SAI PRIOR to 1.50.

    SAI v1.50 Changes/fixes (cumulative from v1.28):

    * Protected cruisers now better simulated.
    * Game will pause on new report if "Pause on sightings" is selected.
    * Game pauses if friendly ships are avoiding submarine torpedoes if "Pause on sub sighting" is selected.
    * Improved ship movements on very fast and ultra fast game speeds.
    * Added ship pictures.
    * Tweaked submarines to make attacks slightly more frequent.
    * Unknown ships in firing messages has been fixed.
    * Damaged ships can now be detached and ordered home manually.
    * Made it more difficult to identify the ship class of enemy ships at night and in bad visibility.
    * AI better at supporting friendly forces in combat on the operational level.
    * Tweaked submarine losses from varius causes to generally increase submarine attrition.
    * Adjusted station keeping for screening divisions.
    * Added "Paused" text when game is paused.
    * Divisions and ships now run a risk of losing contact with their formation at night or in fog if playing on rear admirals or admirals level. The risk is larger for divisions on screen, scout or searchline.
    * The game can now be run on "Fast" during combat situations. Note however that simulation realism may suffer slightly, especially concerning torpedo hits.
    * British preadreadnought battleships will now use "box" formation wen cruising, just as BBs will.
    * Addded autosave function.
    * Weather value will not go out of range;
    * Added quick button for cruise speed (16 knots).
    * Various scenario upgrades

    SAI V1.51 UPDATE

    THIS UPDATE MUST BE INSTALLED AFTER THE V1.50 VERSION ABOVE. IT WILL NOT UPDATE ANY OTHER VERSION!

    Changes in V1.51:

    * Fixed a bug that caused error messages in some older scenarios (Russian Intervention for example).
    * Fixed a bug that could set the speed value to the maximum speed of the previously selected division in the division dialog.
    * Fixed a bug that caused ships in line ahead formation to cut corners to a greater extent than intended.
    * Fixed the invisible torpedo bug.
    * Fixed a bug that made ships less likely than intended to fire torpedoes at crippled enemy ships.
    * Fixed erroneous dates of Jutland scenarios and Tondern Raid.
    * Adjusted AI targeting routines.
    * Fixed errors in a couple of ship classes.
    * Tweaked damage routines to prevent ships taking excessive number of hits to sink.
    * Fixed a bug where both sides could be human controlled after repeatedly loading scenarios playing as different sides.

    Changes in V1.52:
    * Tracks are now saved.
    * New option for game pausing on new reports.
    * Secondary batteries less prone to fire on sinking merchants.
    * Game speed is not limited by AI forces in combat if range is greater than 10000 yards.
    * Sighted neutral merchants will not limit game speed once identified as such.
    * Added indicator for when combat is limiting game speed.
    * Made text for sea state etc darker.
    * Crew quality above 1 has a proportionally smaller effect on damage control, spotting etc.
    * Slightly reduced the VPs for merchant ships.
    * Fixed an issue that could cause problems with extended game play.

    Changes in V1.53:

    * Scouting cruiser divisions could sometimes end up in line ahead after combat. They will now revert to screen formation.
    * Adjusted AI routines so battle divisions in line will have less tendency to end up in C-shaped lines after avoiding torpedo attacks.
    * Fixed a bug with the arc of fire of the forward midships turret.
    * Fixed a display bug that could describe all ships as capable of carrying 120 mines.
    * Fixed a bug that could cause saved games to load with the sides reversed.
    * Corrected BB Erin enemy class name.
    * Fixed a bug that caused torpedoes to disappear at slow game speed.

    SAI CAMPAIGN EXPANSION UPDATE V1.10

    CHANGES/FIXES WITH 1.10:

    * Tracks are now saved.
    * New option for game pausing on new reports.
    * Victory conditions modified so North Sea campaigns require dreadnought superiority to win.
    * Secondary batteries less prone to fire on sinking merchants.
    * Game speed is not limited by AI forces in combat if range is greater than 10000 yards.
    * Sighted neutral merchants will not limit game speed once identified as such.
    * Added indicator for when combat is limiting game speed.
    * Made text for sea state etc darker.
    * Prevented excessive torpedo hits on enemy ships raising steam or leaving port.
    * Crew quality above 1 has a proportionally smaller effect on damage control, spotting etc.
    * AI force selection adjusted so that the AI is more prone to "all or nothing" when it selects forces, especially on higher difficulty levels.
    * The deactiviation button in the campaign screen now works on forces as well.
    * Slightly reduced the VPs for merchant ships.
    * The AI gets a discount on the VP cost for conditional reinforcements.
    * Mandatory objectives slightly more common and a higher penalty for not carrying out mandatory objectives (points x 2).
    * Fixed an issue that could cause problems with extended game play.
    * Upgrade possibilities shown in force tree in campaign screen, and upgrades can be ordered on the popup menu.

    CHANGES/FIXES WITH 1.11:

    * Additional fixes to issues that caused problems with extended game play
    * Added warning if minefield objectives are placed in illegal locations.
    * Adjustment to prevent ships being deployed in minefields or on land.
    * Fixed a bug causing maually fired torpedoes fired on LOW speed setting being given range and speed for HIGH setting.
    * Wear and tear on frequently active ships may necessitate earlier refit.

    CHANGES/FIXES WITH 1.20:

    * Emergency activation status now saved.
    * Message when seaplane objectives cannot be fulfilled due to bad weather or darkness.
    * Fixed a bug that could put upgrading ships forever in the dockyard.
    * Added No to All button to concede question.
    * There will be no mandatory objectives during winter.
    * Fixed a bug where ships that were withdrawn in a damaged condition would be in repair-limbo when they came back.
    * Added some random minefields to the North Sea Campaign to discourage too blatant trolling along the enemy coast.
    * Fixed a bug with training costs after loading a saved campaign.
    * Bases now have correct display text when CL are not allowed for small bases.

    THIS UPDATE MUST BE INSTALLED OVER THE V1.20 CAMPAIGN UPDATE

    THIS UPDATE IS FOR THE CAMPAIGN EXPANSION. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE CAMPAIGN EXPANSION YOU DO NOT NEED TO DOWNLOAD THIS UPDATE.

    CHANGES/FIXES WITH 1.30:

    * Improved pathfinding for divisions under AI control.
    * Added function to copy campaign status to clipboard.
    * Added possibiliy to inspect enemy forces after a campaign.
    * Added sigint "sightings".
    * Coal fired ships steaming at high speed for extended time will now have their speed limited by fouled grates. British ships are less affected due to higher quality coal. Steaming at 16 knots or lower will let the crew gradually clean the grates.
    * Minesweepers larger than 1000 tons are no longer regenerated when sunk.
    * Reduced the endurance of small DDs.
    * Mitigaded the Grimsby land/sea problem.
    * Some tactical AI improvements.
    * Made it easier to select division flags by clicking, human controlled divisions having preference.
    * Now possible to take off the crew of sinking friendly ships and not just sunk ships.
    * Improved AI rebasing.
    * Improved AI deployment from British fleet cruise formation.
    * Improved message when postponing due to weather. You can only postpone an operation once, after that it will be cancelled and the game will go to next turn.
    * Refit Overdue status was not saved. Fixed now.
    * Fixed a bug with ships getting stuck in repair limbo.
    * Fixed a bug with errormessage when seaplane carriers cannot launch aircaft due to weather.
    * Fixed a bug with mine values of refitted ships not being updated. * Fixed the problem with submarine sinking dates sometimes being wrong.

    OOB changes:

    All Campaigns: German CL Strassburg and CL Kolberg will transfer to the Baltic in early 1916 as they did historically.
    Baltic: Rearranged German DD flotillas.
    Baltic: German minelayer Nautilus will not be available in the Baltic until 1916.
    Baltic: German minelayer Deutschland added.
    Baltic: Swinemünde added as a minor German base.
    North Sea Campaigns: Fixed an error which caused the British fleet to suffer mutinies instead of the German fleeet.
    North Sea Campaigns: British Intelligence will drop off in late 1916.
