As far as I can tell, no matter how seriously a ship is damaged the repairs always last only one turn. I have tried to look at this consistently, and I have never yet seen a ship laid up for repairs longer than that.

Others might want to keep an eye on this . . . .

Actually I had an Iowa with 64% flooding from mines. It took a total of 3 turns (1 month per turn). Trouble is that you have to pay attention to the damage percent. I thought my Iowa was finished after one turn also and sailed it all the way to Townville while it still had about 30% damage. I had to sail it all the way back to Pearl where it was repaired down to 5% and then another turn to repair it to 0.

Hmm . . . well, I had a couple of ships with "totally wrecked", or whatever the rubric is, and they required only a month to repair. But I might have been jumping to conlusions on too little evidence.

EDIT: I have continued to monitor this, and it still seems to me that the repair times for ships that have suffered what is described as "extensive damage" are far too short.

Kriegsspieler - ship repairs - like many things - are calculated at hourly intervals. Every hour, a damaged ship in a port with repair capability and enough RPs gets an hour's worth of repair. The cost of the repair depends on the ship type and the damage being repaired. The cost is deducted from the port's store of RPs. Repairs on a ship take place in a certain order - eg flotation damage is always worked on first. It CAN take months for a ship to be fully repaired, especially if the damage is extensive, difficult to repair and on a large ship. There is a complex formula that works out the rate of repair on a given ship. The rate is also modified by the docks level - higher docks levels make for quicker repairs.

But you have to take into account the issue of verissimilitude. A ship that has nerarly 100% damage to its superstructure and massive hull damage, as I saw with one of my heavy cruisers recently, is not going to be fixed up in a week even by the docking station servicing Battlestar Gallactica.
So perhaps the rates of repair ought to be tweaked down a little?

Hmm - that does sound a bit steep! I'll review the code there. Thanks for picking this up.
