Two questions about ports,
1.Can you build ships in ports other than your home port? according page 114 in the manual u can it gives port size needed to build certain ships,
2. The three types of ports, the need of home port is clearly understood, but the function of an advanced port, how do they differ from a normal port?

Ron - yes, you can build ships in any port that has sufficient infrastructure - the higher the infrastructure, the greater the range of ships you can build. It has to be above a certain level to build any though. There is an error in the manual that I have noted to be fixed - in at least one place it says that ships can only be built in your home port. That USED to be the case, but I changed things to allow more flexibility.
The 'home port' and 'advanced port' get higher default levels of infrastructure than other ports - that's the main difference. Plus some things can only happen at your home port. (Eg raising of new troops). But remember that the default levels of infrastructure for any port can be changed during campaign creation. It is possible - and I think Chaos has already spotted this - to have an unusual situation where a country's home port can be given low docks infrastructure - too low to build any ships, but perhaps would high values of other things (eg industry and air defences); the country's shipbuilding could then occur at any number of other ports - by setting their docks levels high enough.

What I spotted was that there could be cases where it is easier to build ships in places other than the homeport, because the necessary RPs are there, not at the homeport.
