Fyi, if you create your own campaign and want to play this (or just share this) with someone else, here is how you do this. (The current PBEM instructions in the manual tell you how to do PBEM, but assumes that both players already have the campaign files).

For the purposes of explanation, let us say you have just created and saved a new campaign called "Armageddon1".

Three files will have been saved to your computer:
1. A game file called 'Armageddon1.sas', will be located in your [SAS WW2 root]\GameData\Campaigns folder. This file contains common game data for both players.
2. Two player files, each starting with 'Armageddon1__', will have been saved to your [SAS WW2 root]\GameData\LatestPlayerFiles folder. These files each contain data for one of the players.

You need to send all three files to the other player.

He/she then needs to save the three files in the corresponding locations on his/her computer.

Optional additonal steps:

1. If you want to able to re-start this campaign at any time (which is a very good idea)
a. Also save the two player files to the [SAS WW2 root]\GameData\Restart folder, and get your opponent to do likewise, BEFORE any changes have been made.

2. If you want to have the game display campaign notes, you can write these as an web page and save it to the [SAS WW2 root]\Help\New folder. The file name has three components:
i. The prefix "Scenario_"
ii The name of the campaign - in this case 'Armageddon1'
iii. a '.htm' (NOT '.html') suffix.

In the example we are using, the campaign notes would be called: 'Scenario_Armageddon1.htm'

You may want to use one of the existing campaign notes pages as a template. If so, find one of them (eg 'Scenario_Med1.htm') in the [SAS WW2 root]\Help\New folder, copy it, rename it and then make your text changes.

That's all folks.

I"ll be adding these instructions to the manual and in-game help when I can.

Cheers

I've always been fascinated by the Battle of Leyte Gulf. What if the Japanese admiral Kurita had not been scared off by the destroyers and the jeep carriers? What would the Yamamoto's massive guns have done to the invasion fleet? How would this have effected the wider conflict? Would it have been a devastating blow to the US?

What if The Battle of Midway had not gone so well for the US?

So many questions...so little game time.
