G'day all,
I'm normally DD person, but I'm so impressed with what I have read, I have ordered this game.
Anyway onto the question, can you only create units, (Bn coy div) on the first turn, or any turn?

Thanks Ron, and the g'day suggests you are, like me, a true son of the land downunder! I Currently live in Melbourne; soon to move to Maleny, north of Brisbane.
Troop units can be created:
a. when a campaign is created - these become available immediately
b. on the first turn , subject to budgetary and other constraints - these also become available immediately
c. on subsequent turns - as for b. but they take varying amounts of time to become available - essentially based on the complexity of the unit from a training perspective. Troops raised after turn 1 get raised in regimental-sized packets and get added to your standing regular army or marine corps, depending on their type.
Cheers mate

So you cant name new troops after the first turn? going north that's a pity:D. I left Melbourne's leafy eastern suburbs belt for some good old cow smells in NE Gippsland. Love it Melbournes off the agenda forever not to mention any other large city. Happy New Year and safe travelling

You too Ron. My wife and I are also happy to be quitting the big smoke, and the area we have chosen in SE Queensland is rather like SE Gippsland - we often used to drive through there on our way to one our favourite spots - Waratah Bay.

Yep nothing beats a an Australian rural town, with its obligatory WW1 war memorial or avenue of honour, mind you my town must be the only town in Oz that hasn't got one. A bit sad, considering one family here lost 3 sons in the Great War,

I've recently ordered SAS also, and following on with questions concerning ground troops, how will "Airborne" troops be handled ie: the German invasion of Crete. Doable?

Harry - we don't currently support airborne troops. The Med scenario starts just after the capture of Crete. Airborne troops would be in the mix of stuff we lookat when we come to enhance the land combat module

OK, thanks! I'm not looking to turn this sim into a land combat type, lol Just curious is all. Just one followup question though. What about removing ground troops from a certain area, as in the evacuation of German troops from Sicily. Can we use our naval transport ships to do that? I would imagine that type of evacuation might be something that happens for the Japanese a lot, during the latter part of the war. Unless you want to fight to the last man.

Absolutely - troop transport missions can be manually set up as well done by the AI for you.
