Well guys, I picked this up this week and although many here are not FPS gamers, if you enjoy any WW2 FPS games this is by far the BEST I have ever played!

Although very gory compared to most games, I have never felt like I was actually in a WW2 movie when playing this game! After over 24 years of computer gaming this is the most realistic WW2 FPS game to ever be released. Even my wife came into my office (The WarRoom) a few times and commented on how she thought I was watching a movie, and asked why I was moving in my chair and flenching while playing! LOL!

Anyhow... this game is a must for any WW2 FPS fans and anyone who enjoyed Call of Duty 4 as this game uses the same game engine where you can shoot through walls, and has the most realistic damage, and lighting effects in any game.

Enjoy!

Yea but Call of Duty 4 had one advantage, and that was "MODERN WARFARE". People could relate to that. I personally am getting sick of WWII games. I still like Silent Hunter III, and I would love to play Silent Hunter 4, but other than that??????????.

Hope you enjoy it though.

Hey Von Smeed

I seen a ad for this game today and it looks great, the only problem is I tend to get lost a lot went playing FPS games. Can I ask which format you have bought this game on?

That's always a good sign of a great went it makes you move about, its very funny how games make us do that very odd but funny. :D

I am the opposite. I tried some of the Rainbow 6 games, Ghost Recon series, and even many of the modern RTS games like World in Conflict, etc, and just got tired of killing terrorists and Russians using all kinds of James Bond goodies, GPS Tracking, Planting laser bombs, and calling in airstrikes etc, etc.

Give me an M1 Garand and let me loose in the battlefields of Europe and the Pacific with just my ammo and wits...and I'm a happy camper!;)

I bought the PC version after I saw the review of the game on X-Play on the G4 channel last week. They usually hate every WW2 game, but said this game was one of the best they have ever seen or played, and gave it a 4 out of 5.

I have not checked on a demo of the game.

You will jump also when Japanese soldiers jump up out of cover and charge you, or a Jap sniper in a Palm tree starts taking out your men and you can't see which tree he is in at first...I just run for cover and then peek around and over trying not to get hit!

Cool thanks I just wonder :).

I just hope this game hasn't got this dam securom DRM system, because I simply will not tolerate spyware/malware rootkits being installed on my PCs from a 100% legal copy of game that I have pay for. I would guess you don't like the idea of this DRM software being install on your computer.

So if it has got this DRM crap it will be another game I will not be buying, which will be shame because it looks great.

Yep, like you I will not purchase any game with online activation or limited installs that uses SecuRom.

This game uses SafeDisc so all you need to do is have the DVD in the drive.;)

Alright I just rented the game for Xbox 360. I have played a little bit of it, and I have to admit the flame thrower is pretty cool.

I have it until tuesday, so I will play it a bit further, to see just how far I can get.

World at War is great, my one beef is that only the PS2 version has the Brits. I'd love to Play with them in Africa or Western Europe. Ah my Enfield with it's smooth bolt and 10 rounds to boot. Add a Bren, Sten, and Webley your good. I also miss my PPS-43, P08 Luger, M3 Greasegun from Call of Duty 2 those would be great addtions the the World of War weapon line up. Any thoughts?
