Does anyone else here play this? I must admit I'm hooked. I've been playing 3 years and am bored many times. Yet I can't help it- I gotta go back again, and again.
One ship per player with as many as 64 per side. Massive battles- battleship salvos arcing across the sky, patterns of torps reaching out for ya. Air strikes passing overhead- or closing for attack. AA fire blackens the sky. An undetected sub torpedoes the Iowa!
With the recent addition of submarines NF has it all. Battleships, Aircraft Carriers, Cruisers, Destroyers (WW2 technology). Choose your nation (4 available) and build your crew. Make better progress with membership payment, but you can play for free.
I have GNB, Pacwar, WitP(Matrix), Harpoon II, Fighting Steel, etc. But NF gets my playing time. Sure it has its faults. But I don't care.

The main site. SDE is from Korea. The servers are in Seattle, Washington, USA. People from the world over play this- 'lag' is an issue at times.

There are 3 servers- Arizona, Missouri, New York from oldest to newest. AZ and MO have many high level players- New York has grown some too I hear(I'm on MO).

Larry:

Is this strictly an on-line game?

NF is what is referred to as an MMORG. It is indeed online only. As far as solitaire, well yes you are the sole player of your account and the ship you deploy. But the game entails naval battle- and all other participants are the same as you- sole player of their account and necessary to have a battle. Broadband is almost a necessity.

Register as a member- its free. Then choose a server and log on. You will be at home port with some crewmen and a neutral Frigate to start with. Try it out in the training area(or dive right into the main area 7). Auto FCS(Fire Control System) works OK but if you play to CL and beyond you'll need manual FCS. At level 12 you choose nation and ship. And are too high for the training area- go to area 7. Join a Great Battle or Blitz. These have taken over the game and guarantee shared experience.

If you like it you can radio me in-game and I'll give you tips. I am Truckin on the Missouri server. But you'll need a radioman to use this feature(place him inside the circle to the lower left). And you can only radio players on your own server. Please ID yourself as from NWS.

There was quick response to this thread then... nothing. Is it now being ignored or is everyone off playing NF?

I can't speak for everyone else on the forum. But I appreciated your introduction to a game that I'd never heard of. I checked out the link and looked around. The game turned out to not be my cup of tea, but I wouldn't have known that if you hadn't introduced it.

So thanks.
