Gentlemen, I have FC SCS installed on 2 machines and the graphic textures on the machine that uses the nvidia 8600 gts are rendered as though I have set them to 8 bit. In other words when the sky or the ocean is rendered, the shades of different colors are rendered with clear lines of demarcation instead of being smoothly blended. And when the sun is on the horizon, there is a strange grey rectangle around it. This doesn't take away from the operational realism, but it does affect the aesthetics. This doesn't occur on the machine with the nvidia 7600 card. Any Ideas?

I have the same card as you and had the same problem bluss the sky would go yellow then the game would lock up. Its the "new and improved" drivers. I went back to the 175.19 drivers and it solved my problems.
The FC graphics engine likes ATI cards much better then Nvidia. I get better speed and resolution out of my onboard ATI video then I do my fancy 8600 GTS.

Hey, its worth a try. The driver should work for all the 8xxx series.

All the new models that are on your download section. Most of the older models all the models from Blimp Commander and Lingw work fine.

All the new models that are on your download section.
Would you post a screen print of one of them please, so I can see whats wrong.
It might be because I have used the unofficial plugin for 3DSMax R3.1 to export the model's to the .J3D file format. :D

Oops! I don't know where the other reply went, I hope it gets culled.........Anyway one of my computers is old enough to have an AGP slot in it, and I found an nVidia 5900 FX card to put in it. Now the graphics are rendered properly. It's too bad that Nvidia doesn't support the older games better. I have perused the internet and I have found many posts regarding other older games and graphic problems with nVidia. The general consensus is that Radeon renders older games much better. Is this true for FC?

I have find that Fleet Command seem to run better on Ati graphic cards than nVidia graphics, but this only my opinion, and yes I have tried both a Ati and nVidia GPU's.
Sapphire 2600XT 256MB PCI-E and XFX GeForce 7600GT 256MB PCI-E and Fleet Command seem to run much better the Ati GPU. :)

Hey Warrior it must be something to do with the unofficial and unsupported plugin, that makes your graphic card not to display the model's correctly.
Do you by chance have the moving parts names?
Unfortunately no I haven't sorry about, but I will do the moving parts soon. :)
I will do some of the other model's that are not working correct which ones would you like me to do? :)

Hey Warrior have a read of this post on the gulfknight forum, this might help you with the getting the model's to work correctly on your GPU.
