A friend of mine from just north of Galveston has put a website together with pictures from Galveston.
It's not pretty.

Excellent pictures. Give my compliments to your friend. How many times has the NOAA, Office of Disaster Preparedness, the State of Texas etc. warned these people about the possibility of a worsening of the hurricanes in the eastern Atlantic. Not first ten times, but how many warnings? It is a real shame. I hope no children were lost.
Anyway, great photos.

Thanks for these photos.
My house is about 2 miles from Bob Hall Pier, and about 9 feet above the Gulf of Mexico. A 23 foot storm surge (what was prediced when Corpus was supposed to be ground zero) woiuld have put about 3 feet of water in my attic....
My son will be viewing these photos tonight....
