I need some help, I have install both 19.0 and 18.3, separately. But with both of them whenever I start a single mission, I get "Scenario File Error", for airplanes, ships, etc, until finally the game locks-up on me.

Does anyone know what I have done wrong?

Jim

P.S. I have my game installed on a different hard drive then my boot drive. I have the SCS Naval Pack game installed.

Thanks in advance.

Need more info on the error, does it say anything else and what is the scenario.

It may be that the FC game engine is confused by two installs. Also several unit names have been changes over time so scenarios from 18.3 may not work on 19.0 and the reverse is true also.

Mike,

Sorry for the mix up on the number of installs. I have only 1 install of Fleet Command, but I have tried both 18.3 and 19.0.

It happens for all the single missions, but as an example:

CVBG Norwegian Sea

Scenario File Error Entity Nimitz CVN Unknown Aircraft Type: F-14 Tomcat
Scenario File Error Entity Nimitz CVN Unknown Aircraft Type: F/A-18 Hornet
Scenario File Error Entity Nimitz CVN Unknown Aircraft Type: SH-60F Sea Hawk
Scenario File Error Entity Nimitz CVN Unknown Aircraft Type: EA-6B Prowler
Scenario File Error Entity Nimitz CVN Unknown Aircraft Type: E-2 Hawkeye
Scenario File Error Entity Nimitz CVN Unknown Aircraft Type: S-3 Viking
Scenario File Error Entity Nimitz CVN Unknown Aircraft Type: ES-3 Viking

Scenario File Error Warning: Skipping Unrecognized Entity Type: F-14 Tomcat
Scenario File Error Warning: Skipping Unrecognized Entity Type: F/A-18 Hornet

Scenario File Error Entity Nimitz CVN Unknown Aircraft Type: TU-22 Backfire

Scenario File Error Warning: Skipping Unrecognized Entity Type: TU-22 Backfire
Scenario File Error Warning: Skipping Unrecognized Entity Type: TU-142 Bear J
Scenario File Error Warning: Skipping Unrecognized Entity Type: TU-22 Backfire
Scenario File Error Warning: Skipping Unrecognized Entity Type: TU-22 Backfire
Scenario File Error Warning: Skipping Unrecognized Entity Type: TU-142 Bear J

Scenario File Error Warning: Skipping Unrecognized Entity Type: Tico CG
Scenario File Error Warning: Skipping Unrecognized Entity Type: Tico CG (VLS)
Scenario File Error Warning: Skipping Unrecognized Entity Type: TU-22 Backfire

Then the game Locks up.

I hope this helps.

Looks like you selected one of the stock missions, you need to delete the default ones and only use the NWP created missions.

Yes it's a stock mission. Thanks millerj818, I will try that.

Jim

Edit: Thanks millerj818 - that was the problem - I was using a stock mission. I moved the stock missions to another folder and installed NWP 19.0. Started up Fleet Command, tried a single mission and everything worked fine.

Also thanks Mike D & millerj818 for the prompt replies. I guess I need to RTFM. Thanks again for the help.

Jim
