Is it just me or does History have a hell of a lot less "history" progamming now days? Recently, like the last 9 months or so, it seems like pretty much all of there new programing has been mostly "reality" stuff with the exception of Battle 360.

Hi:
Yes I agree. It's probably because better history is being done on the Military History Channel and they want a wider audience. For awhile all the History Channel was showing was military or weapons based stuff and that doesn't have quite as wide an appeal.

Sad but true. They seem to be following the same steps as MTV. The one then that MTV no longer has is MUSIC VIDEOS.
Soon the History Channel will be just that (HISTORY).

I agree. I remember the heady days of the early '80s when MTV first hit the tube. God it was great music and cool specials. Then they decided to become a reality channel. I have not watched it in at least 15 years.

I'm not sure if my cable has that channel. I've just heard about from other forum members.

Back in January I broke my leg and I was out on sick leave for a week. i stayed home watching TV, and was hoping to see some decent stuff on the History channel- instead I got 'Monster quest' programs about UFOs and similar stuff that belonged on the Sci Fi channel. I recently got digital cable which has the Military Channel (which has some good shows).

Mike:
Ha Ha! The show on Hidden History where they explore the underground cities is about the only thing along with Battle 360 and Dogfights that I like on that Channel. I watch Discovery Channel more with my sons than the History Channel.

Hi Ed,
I like the History Channel's science shows too. The Universe series is very good.

HI Paladin,
Hmmmm, could that be another reality show? Imagine a bunch of c list celebrites answering questions about monster quest and then shooting themselves in the foot when they get it wrong.
I remember a few years ago seeing a show about TV game shows in other countries. My favorite was from Russia and was called "Interceptor". They took some poor schmoe and gave him a beater Fiat and try to escape from the Russian police in it. If he got away he kept the car, if he didn't get away, he got a beat down. No lovely parting gifts...wonder if there was a home version?
