Everythime I log on to this sight I only get about 10 minutes to read and then I hear a BEEP on my Computer. When that happens my mouse stops working and the screen freezes. It last for about a minute or so and then everything is back to normal. It only happens when I am on this sight, and it has happened three times in a row. The first time the screen became messed up, and certain symbols where in the wrong place. I switched back to my Yahoo Account and everything was normal, but then I switched back to this page and the visuals where still messed up. What ever it is, it is only this web page.
I was just wondering if something has changed recently that may be causing this, and if anyone else is expieriencing this also?

Hello,
I have been on the forums using 3 different PCs over the last 2 days and experienced no unusual issues. Most likely may be a local issue on your machine.

I ve accessed this forum a pc and a notebook, with none of the effects that you are describing. I would suggest running an anti-virus scan, then a check with an anti-spam software like spybot or adaware. This would be the place to start.

I did have a virus about two weeks ago, but Nortan Anti Virus spotted it and said that it was taken care of. The first time that his happend I ran another virus scan, but nothing came up except a tracking cookie. Those things always come up in the scans, so I do not think that is an issue.

No problems here. I monitor and moderate the forums daily. Another thing to check, make sure nothing on your system is overheating and that your motherboard is not having some sort of power flux, bios, or memory issues. Try everything out on another PC if you can also. I run virus checking, registry optimization (using a good software utility), scanning for ad/malware, regularly. I also use Trend Micro as I have seen Norton miss stuff before that TM caught and killed during side by side test runs.
http://www.antivirus.com .. Trend Micro internet security suite. I highly recommend it.
Let me know what you find out but I can assure you its not our site as the forums, main site, and store only uses standard code and security scripts.
Thanks.

Perform a registry optimization as a last resort. This is a dangerous area of work. Backup of your registry first and your hard drive. This can make things much worse.

I use a utility that makes a backup automatically before it optimizes. Optimizing a registry can help windows to run far more efficiently, just need to make sure you find a good utility to do it with and understand what it is doing. I run it 1-2x a week with no problems.
Scandisk and defrag might help also.
Thanks.

I ask the computer to do an analysis on its self about once a month, but it always tells me that defrag is not neccessary at the moment. I normally do it anyway.
I recently did download some new upgrades for WINDOWS VISTA off the internet. A message just popped up and said upgrades available, so I clicked okay. I wonder if it has something to do with that.
I do not have another computer at the moment, but I will probably buy one in a month or two. I guess I will just have to keep my fingers crossed and hope that this is not something seriouse. My next computer will definetly be a desk top. I have had so many laptops (3) crash on me that it is not funny. I want something that I can just call someone and have them come out to my house and repair on the spot. Everytime a laptop goes down, you have to mail it back to the manufactuer for them to repair it. That normally takes about 2 weeks.
