A while back when I posted the cover scans from old issues of Our Navy magazine, Ed asked if there were any articles on Leyte Gulf. Well, I found some, scanned them and posted them on Flickr for Ed or anyone else who is interested. They can be found at the link below:

Is there an easy way to print them? I'm not too familiar with Flickr.

Well, they're .jpg files. When you open them, click on the 'all sizes' link above to get the largest size available, then right click and select 'save image' and select where you want to save them to. You can then print them like you would a picture.
There is a way to scan them as document files, but I've never had much luck with them coming out right.

You're welcome! :D
There are alot of different articles on ships and various actions. If anything you want comes to mind, let me know and I'll see if its in there. That goes for everyone else on this forum, too.

Robert,
Thank you for posting the Leyte articles. They are interesting. Are there, by chance, any pieces about the naval battles in the upper Solomons, Kolombangara or Kula Gulf in particular?
The ads were interesting as well. I loved the Dr. Painless Parker, Dentist with officers in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Oakland, San Diego, Long Beach, San Pedro and on all leading Pacific Coast Cities. You can see why California passed a law dictating that a dentist must practice at least two days in each office he owns.

I'll look and see. I do believe they had a piece about the USS Helena. Of course, since these later (from 1944-1946) more of the articles were about current/recent events, but I'll give them a looksee to see what I can find.

Hey Ed, I had also posted an article about the gold carried out of the Philippines by the USS Trout (I posted the link in another thread)- did you see it it?

In concurrance with Vince, are there any articles on the USS Washington's fight with the Kirishima? I really enjoyed the Leyte articles, they gave you the feel of the ordinary sailor rather than a historian's writing. The descriptions of the casualties on the USS Suwanee were particularly moving. You know that kind of thing stays with a veteran all his or her life.

I think so, I'll go back and check and download it as well. Was the article on the USS Guam just a single page?

I went back and found the link, but I was not able to download the article like the others. Any idea why? It might be because it wasn't part of an album perhaps?

Not sure why you couldn't download them. Here are the links below for each page:

I haven't included them in any album yet.
And I'll look for any articles on the Washington-Kirishima fight.

BTW, I found an interesting article about the HMS Exeter in the Java Sea. I'll scan it and upload it for all today or tomorrow.
