Funny watching the studies on coffee over the years. It's bad then it's neutral then it's good then it's bad again. I like the beer studies myself, a pint or two a day is medicinal!

I agree, and I include wine and whiskey to make sure I've covered all the bases.:D

I wouldn't care since I haven't had a cup of the stuff since 1989.

Beer is never good for you. Swollowing saliva does not cause stomech cancer. And coffee is nasty.

That's right, you just heard an ex truck driver say coffee is nasty. I would drink moutain dew any day to avoid coffee, and I know moutain dew is bad for you.

As for alchohol being good for you, it only applies to red wine. You should drink one small glass of red wine every day. That means that you should not drink it to get drunk, but only drink one small glass to clean your blood out. It works like asprin in a way, and keeps your blood thined out. This makes it less likely for you to have a heart attack or stroke. It also cleans your blood of things that cause blood clots all together. That is why they tell senior citizens to drink one small glass of red wine with their breakfest.

Now here is a tip for all of you. Just eating about 10 red grapes a day will do the trick also. This keeps your liver from having to clean the alchohol out of your blood. I do not want liver cancer either, so I think I will stick with grapes.

See I do know a few things after all. :D;)

You obviously have not been keeping up on things. Only red wine - not any more. In a quick search I found MANY articles on beer's health benefits. Of course most of it is theory in any case, and they'll find out most likely that beer reduces the odds of a stroke but increases the odds of some kind of cancer.

Here is only one beer article.. there are plenty more. http://www.askmen.com/sports/foodcourt/45_eating_well.html

I agree and I love thompson seedless. I also believe that unsalted, raw nuts, in a measured quantity is also good for you. But I do like my Chianti and rieslings.

Mountain Dew looks like Radioactive piss. But hey get your caffeine rush any way you can. Long live wine.

Speaking of coffee, I just made a pot of Italian Roast espresso. Brand new package from Italy. Ohhhhhhhhh!! Just love it. Luckily, it only makes 4 oz. But in an demitasse, life is good.

Kyle:

Beer is useful when one has a kidney stone attack as it helps flush the little jagged asteriods of pain out of the system. At least that's my stance.

Dennis:

Herman Weimer 2006 Riesling Reserve from the great state of NY. Though I doubt you'll find it out in sunny California.

Also pistachios are a good treat, stay away from the red dyed ones.

Green grapes rule.

Is there a website so I can special order? My wife and I love riesling, especially from the Rhine river area. We get it at a German deli. They also have German beers and German style meats, sauerkraut etc.

Love pistachios and I do stay away from the red dyed ones. In fact, I like raw nuts, no roasting, no salt.

Green grapes forever!! But red ones are good too!!!

Do you remember the scene in Sahara with Humphrey Bogart, when the French soldier was telling the US soldiers about his area of France? A little cheese, a little meat, a little wine. My favorite meal.
