Not to be outdone by my son, I purchased a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 32GB tablet. Now, in all honesty, I was having difficulty knowing where I would use it. He uses it for school, however once I got it, I realized the potential. I was able to install Kindle for PC and Nook for PC along with Google Books, so I have access to all my books on one device and it's fonts are bigger for these old eyes. I then used the Samsung PC software to import all the music from Itunes and movies and it installed them on the Tablet so I don't need to bring the IPOD along. It is limited to 32 GB but no problem. I purchased an adapter for USB and use flash drives formatted in FAT32 to store more videos and music. I am going to purchase a 256 GB flash drive and should be able to put all my videos on it once ripped and converted to MP4. Another great feature is A-GPS or assisted GPS. It has a GPS receiver in it but needs WiFI to get location information however, it will work without it. It will identify where you are and track your movements so I don't need my GPS device. All in all, I have one device for cruises and tours that eliminates everything else. It has other features that I like but to use them, does require Wifi but in most locations on travel, there is free Wifi so I am not worried.

This is ridiculous, I am just having too much fun. ;)

Dennis,

I also have a Galaxy Tab 10.1 (16Gb model) and it is very useful: lots of apps available that make my life (both work and leisure) easier. The only item that I really, really wished the Tab had was a SD card slot -- I almost purchased an Acer Iconia tablet instead because it had a micro-SD slot, but went ahead and got the Tab becasue it has a more solid reputation (and so far the Tab has been great, so no regrets).

The lack of a micro-SD slot has been a consistent criticism but most reviews say that it isn't show stopper. I haven't seen the need, so it did not enter into the picture.
