I haven't played this for a while, but I'm thinking of reinstalling it (had a hard drive failure and lost it). I just want to check two things:
1. Once I install the base game do I have to download and install ALL the patches from the first one to 1.19 beta 1 (or 2)?
2. Has the plane allocation been streamlined at all? I can't remember what I didn't like about it (its in a post somewhere here), but I remember it being very tedious to get the airfields stocked the way I wanted them.
Thanks

Tony can tell you better than me, but I think all the updates have to be installed in turn and there has been a lot of work on the air component of the game. You will see some of the detail in the other posts of this forum.

Hi guys
First, a very serious apology for the delay. I have been having family health issues to deal with. This has also delayed further work on 1.19 Beta 2, so I now expect this will be out in a couple of weeks.
Makris - to answer your questions - yes you need to install all of them, and1.17 was the last one to touch ac deployment. The relevant improvements in that version were as follows:
- add a 'transfer all' function allowing one-click transfer of all aircraft of a selected type
- prevent lists scrolling and re-positioning after each transfer
- lists now show the number of ac that can be deployed to each airfield and carrier
Cheers

Tony-
This game is a labor of love. Your family is more important than that. Get them healed, we all can wait...

Thank you Barry, I do feel a bit guilty for having neglected you all lately but I have had little choice. Normal service should resume soon, as they say.
