Been a while since I have logged in... The boards are empty and my login normally used did not work.... What happened to everything???

We moved our forums to a new server, unfortunately.. we lost our entire forum database and we are right now in the process of reconstructing our forums.

Dam that bites... Perhaps a note on your main website and online store for those of us that are not aware of the situation...My first thought was wondering if this was technical or whether NWS was shutting down... Glad to know it is not the latter... Look forward to getting back to the boards and files and updates etc.

Thanks for the support. NWS is in absolutely no danger of shutting down anytime soon, I can assure you of that. This was just one of those s*** happens things when something technical craps out. However, the good news is that our new servers are far superior to the previous ones and our forum software is now fully updated. We just didn't expect the previous server to take a nose dive during the process of moving. We did make a plan B archive, for lack of better words, of the previous forums just in case but before we could transfer the actual database the previous server was knocked out by a major outage. The new forums are fully functional now so we are just going through the process of rebuilding the various sections on the forums as we go.

I watched something cool the other day that reminded me of you. It was a YouTube presentation of a BBC series on the Italian campaign, focusing on Monte Cassino. It was done in that usual thorough and expert that only the BBC seems able to do anymore and was apparently part of a series that the BBC did on famous campaigns. Makes me wish I could have seen the entire series.

Yeah, I vaguely remember the BBC doing that series, but I can't remember what other episodes there were, or even when it was aired, probably old age kicking in.
I will try and look it up later, its almost certain being repeated on one of the satellite channels.
