Well, another Memorial Day is upon us. For us, it's the Indy 500, apple pie, Coca-Cola 600 and our family. However, for many, there is no Memorial Day, they were lost in wars. I hope we can all take time during the holiday to try to remember some of these men and women. Many of us served in the military and were lucky enough to come home to enjoy the rest of our lives. I count myself one of the lucky ones.
I doff my hat to the fallen.:(
Warning to potential enemies! Because we are slow to recognize danger and engage it, doesn't mean we are weak. We have paid whatever price was necessary, and will again. If you start it, I guarantee, we will finish it.

This reminds me. Here in town there was a funeral this week for a Marine killed recently in Afghanistan. You can see the story at the link below:

Terrible waste of our young folks. I think, sometimes that women should be in charge of governments. Maybe we would have less war.:(

When I was a kid, I heard someone on TV say we should send our politicians into war. Perhaps that way they could bore the enemy to death with their speeches...

AM to that. Let the bozos who start the wars fight them!
But, as Dennis said and Toby Keith phrased it, "This dog'll bite if you rattle his cage." My personal philosphy is to try and love everyone. But if I'm cornered and have no alternative, I'm perfectly capable of going "Viking" on anybody.
My thoughts this weekend are with all those who've sacrificed for us AND with their families.

*hands out some poppies*
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
- Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, 3 May, 1915
