View Full Version : A question about goals

In some of the missions I design for myself, I want a group of land objects to appear when a transport or aircraft arrive at a certain point ... i.e. a destination goal that creates a group. I know the manual covers this, which is where I got the idea from.

However, it doesn't seem to recognize the "aircraft type" field. For instance, I might want an American C-130 to spawn a group of infantry. Thus I'll select "United States," for the nation, "Air Force Aircraft" for the group, and "C-130" for the specific plane type.

Yet after creating a dozen of these missions using various nations and aircraft, I've noticed that every "Air Force aircraft" will trigger the destination goal. Therefore, a SEAD aircraft sent to destroy AAA and SAMs will spawn the infantry.

The only work-around I know of is to use the database editor to add the plane I want to trigger the goal to the "Army Aircraft" and make sure the triggering aircraft is the *only* aircraft from the "Army" group that will move toward the goal.

Is there a fix for this?

O.K.

I'm not sure if you mean the same. Take a look at my Crimea mission, there are infantry teams "landed" after russian helicopters get to the landing zone. This is good solution if you want to create land objects by computer controlled side. But by your own.. I think it could work also , but I I haven't checked it. It certainly should work if the exact plane is in the air at mission startup.
