All - I have improved the routine controlling the interceptions of surface forces, and of surface forces and subs. I am going to trial this for a bit in my PBEM game with Christian before releasing it in 1.15.
The improvement makes a noticeable and imediate difference to the effectiveness of subs - which has been an issue raised here recently, as well as to surface forces on offensive or defensive patrols.

Thanks for considering the comments, but just to note that, for my part the comment was based more on the effectiveness of aircraft, compared with U-boats, against convoys. The air attacks can hit the convoys hard in the Atlantic Scenario, whereas the U-boats don't seem to be so effective. I am questioning how effective air attacks on shipping were in 1940, as the 'Prince of Wales' and 'Repulse' came as a surprise and the effectiveness of Fliegerkorps X in the Mediterranian after 1941 contrasted with what had`gone before. The TF routing, reference strength of enemy air power, will go a long way to dealing with that issue. :)

For your interest: apparently Tony decided to tweak the surface interception routine because his force failed to react to my sending Bismarck and company north through the Celtic Sea... (What can I say? He who dares, wins...)

Hehe - it's great to be Zeus, able to change the course of human history with just a little code tweak here and there...

Whoops ! This went into the wrong thread, meant as part of the discussion on U-boats and 1.15 additions.
