Some thoughts about BF2BC,
Good:
a) MP is very good.
b) Wide range of weapons, equipment, and gadgets.
c) Excellent weapon effects.
d) Destructible environment
e) Good vehicle/weapons modelling
f) Excellent value/kill/teamwork points system
g) Excellent maps and range of battle types
h) Runs well under W7/32 on my HD 4850. (DO NOT USE CATALYST 10.0+, BUGGY, 9.0+ WORKS FINE)
i) Snipers are deadly as hell - especially with mortar fire missions
j) Hardcore play helps elminate a lot of the "super human" tricks, very lethal.
k) Wide range of MP game play setup options
l) Simple online activation routine with an option for "no CD check" installation.
Bad
a) Long "browse servers" update times - you can cancel however after about 30 seconds and get a quick list
b) No BOTS/CO-OP which greatly limits SP replayability after you beat the campaign.
c) Dangerous playing as the "medic"/LMG as you get waxed quick as soon as you shoot at anything, easy to spot.
d) No prone - however - with the complex envirronments its easy to get "stuck" so not a serious setback.
e) Team work is not as integrated as BF2/2142 - too chaotic unless you have a tight nit team. Clustering however can get your "team" killed quick.
f) Standard/non-hardcore play allows for a lot of "super human" stunts like "bunny hopping" and requires too many hits to get kills.
g) No "winded" effects - you can run and jump forever.
Overall, IMHO, FAR better then COD4 which suffers from frag-grenade hell, NO vehicles, and too quick to "rank up". I have not played CODMW2 yet.
BFBC2 is a far cry improvement over BF2/2142 (which are still fun however) in most respects, especially environment. Very addictive game play if cheaters/stat padders are not infiltrating the battle.
