Small wonder:
"US Navy Commander Martin Lewandowski, of Portland Maine, who spoke on the condition of anonymity"
:D me thinks it's quite tongue in cheek...

Yes it is Ed. Thus my reference to the Onion. Go onion.com to get an idea of what they do.

Interestingly enough, The Onion itself get mistaken for a serious publication often enough. I attended a talk by the guy who runs The Onion once; he said he regularly gets angry e-mails to the tune of "How can you write such BS? You have a responsibility to the public!".

Christian,
Apparently "common sense" is one of the most misnamed concepts of all time. :p

Not to mention that neither of the Horizon-class ships in French service is named the Ouragan; the former LPD Ouragan has been out of service for three years and is awaiting potential sale to Argentina. Still, pretty amusing story - going to have to send this to one of my French friends who knows a few chums in their Navy :p
