Is there a version of fleet command with the NWP files already installed? I am talking about a CD Rom with the whole game programmed. If so I would just buy that, because I have been unable to get around the problem that I am experiencing when trying to download the version onto the original fleet command.
This would help me out more, because I enjoy the original version as well, and so I could simply delete the installation and reinstall the version that I wanted to play at that particular moment.
Does anyone know if you can simply buy Fleet Command with the NWP files already installed on the CD?

I am sorry but we cannot do that. FC is copyrighted to SA/EA and NWP is co-copyrighted to NWS/SA. We cannot therefore distribute FC due to copyright reasons except for direct sales across our store via the sales of original publications.
I am sure the forum members will try to help you as much as possible with any NWP installation questions.
Thanks.

Just a quick question. I understand all of the copyright issues, but will the copyright ever end, like a patton does?
Basically what I am asking, is will you be able to launch an 18.3 version in the future, or is that copyright for ever?

I think you mean "patent" which is different then copyrights. As to copyrights.. media copyrights last 75 years at present. EA/SA own the rights to the FC original game so they are the only parties that can authorize how and when their game is distributed. The same goes for our NWP project files on our end. End result.. FC cannot be distributed in a FC/NWP v18.3 CD without both theirs, and ours, consent on the same CD. It is doubtfull that would ever happen since our files are not considered "official" parts of the original FC engine plus EA/SA have other editions of FC that are not for public distribution.
In any case, NWP is free for download and once you go through the correct installation process it should function with FC. There are FAQs and installation instructions on our forums that should help.
Thanks

Well you guys should definetely keep trying. I find it hard to believe that Sonalyist would refuse to release an updated version, being that you guys have done most of the work already. Besides, your version is far more realistic.

It'd be great if this happens. This is what happened to Falcon 4.0. People mod the game, turn it into something much better than the original, then release it as Falcon: Allied Force - arguably the best commercially available modern flight sim on the market.
I think NWP is also deserving of a similar title for best commercially available naval strategy sim, seeing as how there's virtually no other naval strategy sim out there except Harpoon
