View Full Version : Whats going to be in 1.07? What would we like in 1.07

OK, it has been dead in these forums for almost a week...time to wake them up. Couldn't think of anything better than to ask what might we be seeing in the 1.07 update...Chris...are you far enough along and comfortable enough to share any details?

(Notice, I am not asking *when* 1.07 might be released because anybody that has been around the block knows that is a sure fire way to delay the release date.)

Also, just out of curiosity...what are the top three things you users would want to see if you could decide what is going in this update?

I for one would like to see:

1. Updated ship DB (more!)
2. Land
3. Enhanced torpedo modeling (i.e. ability of misses to strike other ships that might be within the spread...not just the targeted ship)

- Land (with coastal batteries etc)
- Multiplayer
- Expanded OOBs and timeframe

I wouldn't mind to shell $$$ for a substantial expansion.

v1.07 will include the WW1 USN database and some additional gunnery combat mechanics details - at least this is what I plan on at this time. My present time frame for posting v1.07 is sometime in February. I am using this month to make some improvements to our operations and take a slight break after the holiday chaos. ;) Land, 80nm x 80nm+ sized map, and larger battles are in the works for v1.08+.

And an easy one, a '39 New Mexico for the WW2 DB?

There are a number of ships that can "cross-deck" between DB IIRC, and Japan can use some of those refurbished Russian ships after '05.

It would be great to have more than 4 divisions too.

Larger battles = more divisions.. AKA the ability to handle a Jutland sized battle. 24+ divisions per fleet.

One additional request would be for a zoomable map. WWI battles happen at close quarters (if compared to WWII ones), and sometimes the involved division occupy a small area in the middle of a blue vastness. Also, zooming down with 5000yds, 2500yds and 1000yds squares would help in judging distances better when involved in any kind of close combat.

A zoomable map is planned on, likely around the same time I add in the larger map scales - 80x80nm+.

I will like for 1.08:

1- Land, with coastal batteries, and why not, towns to bombard.

2- Spanish navy. Both WW1 and WW2 period

3- The hability to select a pre-WW1 and Interwar databases.

Hope 1.08 can be ready before summer.

1. US WW1, of course, but including the ships the Naval Treaty killed, for all powers.
2. Land, with coastal batteries.

I have to make my monthly request for there to be a option to have no sound at all(I like to listen to my own music as I play). :D

Earlier posts have mentioned most of what I'd like to see from v1.07, but heres a couple of other things:-

1. Please sort out the display oddities in Full-Screen mode. I think they've already been mentioned by others for a while but it is my prefered way of playing games on the PC.

2. Due to the aforementioned oddities, I'm currently playing in Scaled mode. Unless I've missed something obvious, there doesn't seem to be an option to have the game remember the window size between sessions.

I still reckon that WCNAW was an excellent investment of my parents' money (got it as a Christmas present)!

Hi, sorry but at this time I have not found a solution for the display anomolies in "full screen" mode for certain monitor / video card combinations. In scaled mode resizing the screen takes only a second or two to drag and drop the screen the screen size. I can see if the engine will allow a "scaled resolution" setting ; example "scaled [x res] x [y res]". Stay tuned.
