NWS,

I am just curious if differences in the quality of different nations equipment protection is modeled. I know that quality differences are abstracted in the FP rating for example 16" MK1 guns/ammo are slightly inferior to the 16" guns of the US in the FP rating...and also in general armor protection. What I am wondering if it is taken into account in the chance for steering or engine damage if country 'A' is known to have better protected its boiler room, steering or other systems with additional piece armour, placement, etc on certain ships or classes?

Even though WCNAW uses "factors" it is not as abstracted as you may believe. There is a lot that goes on "under the hood" that is far beyond just "factors".

However, the structural integrity of the ship design in taken into consideration on a per class basis which is reflected in the structural, armor, and other ratings. DC, crew quality, and other internal calculations also adjust how a ship withstands damage during combat. As work progresses greater levels of detail terms of ship designs will be added, stay tuned for further news to be posted soon. ;)

I was getting the impression while playing that there was a little bit more going on "under the hood", very cool! I look forward to what you have in store for us along the lines of ship details and modeling (icing on an already excellent cake).

Do you have a roadmap posted somewhere that I have missed. I have seen tid-bits here and there about what is planned for 1.1, (I think it was in the FAQ) etc.

Just our FAQ shows some of our plans for now.. ;)
