One genre of games that I enjoy are the empire building series from Aspry. This would include 1601AD, 1701AD and the newest, Dawn of Discovery. I just bought that last game and I am having more fun. They are not simple and do require constant attention to detail if you want to have a positive cash flow. I have gotten to the more difficult levels but I will eventually. I also have Age of Mythology, Age of Empires although I haven't played those recently.
