As I seem unable to convert the .pdf format into a spreadsheet file, could you post the Ship Data Sheet in spreadsheet format?
I'd like to fiddle with it a bit for myself; change penetration and armour into inches and note how many of each class were build etc. Also, you sort order of alpha by class is annoying.
Thanks

I would prefer we stick with the PDF format for the ship charts. Why would sorting the ship classes by their names be "annoying"? As to noting how many were built in a class.. we could possibly add that to the chart if enough of you would find that helpful in some way.

Annoying because it is in alpha order rather than order in which they were built. As I run my eyes down the tiny print I have to keep jumping up and down and getting lost trying to see how different classes change over time.
Knowing that the way I massage data might be kinda individual, wasn't even thinking of asking you to do things my way - now isn't that a change. :)

So are you asking for dates of commission order vs alpha order?

Wasn't meaning to be difficult, but yes. Really, I can probably just convert the .pdf to excel and do it myself. Didn't mean to bother you.

Your not bothering me AK.. what do others of you think? Would you prefer dated order or alpha order? Thanks.

I seldom use the charts. Would sorting by year, then by class make any sense/help anyone? That is, put all of the 1914 ships, sorted by alpha, then the 1915 ships, etc.
Just a random thought.

I think at most, we would consider, we could sort by type then by date. Example, BB (ship name) 1940, BB (ship name) 1941, etc..
However, lets fly with what we have for now. v1.03 is in the works..;)

That is what I was suggesting, continue to group ships by type, but sort by date within the group. Could just be me, of course, not the first time.:)

Let's discuss this again at a later date after we take care of the higher priorities. ;)
Thanks.

Gents,
Below is a link to sorted ship data-charts for WC-NAW. Ships are sorted within each Navy first by Type, then by Year from older to newer (same years are sorted alphabetically).
