History Channel has developed and aired a new five part series titled 'The Wehrmacht'. It is an outstanding program, IMO. One of the sources for Part one on the Polish and French campaigns is a book I am currently reading, "The Blitzkrieg Legend'. Its author is shown as an authority and I can confirm at least that part of the program. It uses German sources and historians along with former German soldiers. It depicts the famous conversations between German officers captured and sent to Trent Park in England. These conversations were secretly recorded and the Wehrmacht officers incriminated themselves and the rest of the Wehrmacht in the crimes against humanity.
I believe this is a return to the quality programs developed and aired by the History Channel. I hope if enough of you watch this, we can get a good, apolitical discussion going.

I will definitely watch for this. Its been so long since History Channel aired any quality history, I thought they'd forgotten how.
I've read The German Generals Talk. Its a good book, but I believe the Germans strongly suspected their accomodations were bugged and spoke accordingly. Just my own "gut feel".
Thanks for the heads up Dennis.

I have 'The German Generals talk' by Liddell Hart and its a bit, self serving but good information. I think you will enjoy the series.
BTW, the information about the bugging of Trent Park comes from a book titled' Tapping Hitler's Generals: Transcripts of Secret Conversations, 1942-1945' by Sonke Neitzel. You will see this historian frequently in this program. The book is available online.

I'll look into that. Thanks my friend.
BTW, has the Bonnie Doon fire died out yet? That fire was within 5 miles of my old house in the Glenwood area of Scotts Valley.
