When battles involve a large number of ships, it is almost impossible to follow the action -- too much need to scroll up and down.

I wonder if it could be possible to have a detailed but textual after action report, giving the "serious" player the possibility to fully evaluate the behaviour of fleets (and thus the effects of ROE and other standing orders).

In general, I would like to have more text briefings (and stats) -- printable and saveable -- in order to build a full campaign history and to be able to analize the results of my strategic and tactical choices.

Cheers

This topic has been discussed.. problem is this.. the number of AAR entries could be *MASSIVE*. Remember, A LOT goes on during a campaign on all dimensional levels - subs, resources, planes, land combat, surface combat, CV battles, mine warfare, etc..etc..etc.. You could end up with a text file longer then the code used to run the Space Shuttle! ;) Joking aside.. its not a simple "lets shoot off some text for the player" type of thing. Allowing for at least enough detail so that the AAR would not come out completely confusing could be a major challenge. For now, lets shelve this idea so we can first nail down any critical items on the docket and then we can wrap our thoughts around any possible way to make an AAR a reasonable idea to implement.

Thanks.
