Hi:

There is a new book covering the battle of Surigao Strait that has a tentative publication date of May 2009, although one on-line source who cannot be named claims to have it in stock. The author is Anthony Tully who co-authored with Jon Parshall "Shattered Sword" and other articles on naval history. Should be worth a read.

I'll have to keep a weather eye out for that one. Thanks Ed.

Kurt:

My pleasure. I think it is part of a series on Great or Famous Battles. Chris could probably get it once it is out.

The full title is "Battle of Surigao Strait (Twentieth-Century Battles)", author is Anthony P. Tully. It is a 352 page hardbound book.

I added this book to our NWS Online store today (look in the "History Book" subsection), and it *should* be available, although Chris would be the one that knows that for certain or not.

I am buying this one myself and plan on giving it a good read...

William:

I'm looking forward to seeing how Tully analyzes this battle since I have read about it extensively, but usually as part of the overall Leyte Gulf battles.
